Stash vs Lipton

Yesterday, I began making myself a cup of tea. I poured water into the tea kettle and put it on the stove. Then I went to get a bag of my favorite tea, Chai Green Tea. Stash (the maker of my tea) has done something they must consider to be user-friendly with the packaging... it's not.
They have cut out a small semi-circle from the bottom of the box to turn the box into a dispenser (see pic). How smart! If it worked. It doesn't.
As you can see from the pic, multiple teabags get stuffed in the opening making it a somewhat useless invention and a good example of bad design.
On another note, take a look at the Lipton tea box. See that extra lip of packaging that becomes hidden when the top is closed. This lip keeps the box lid closed, and provides just the right amount of feedback when opening the lid. This is an example of good design.
